Miss Alabama 2012 Katherine Webb, who became an overnight sensation when an ESPN commentator pointed her out during a game on Monday, canceled interviews on Thursday over concerns that it could affect her relationship with her boyfriend.

Webb, 23, is dating college football player AJ McCarron. She garnered attention after ESPN announcer Brent Musburger gushed over how "beautiful" and "lovely" she is on Monday, Jan. 7, at the BCS National Championship game.

In the 24 hours following the game, she gained almost 200,00 Twitter followers and at press time she has over 260,000 fans on the social media site. Webb received requests for television interviews since the incident and appeared on "TODAY" on Jan. 9 to talk with Matt Lauer.

Webb declined eight interviews on Thursday, Jan. 10, though, because she was concerned it might affect her relationship with McCarron.

"I want it to be about me and him," Webb said in a statement to TMZ. "He's a guy I can see myself having a real future with."

She added that her decision to cancel the interviews was "not made at A.J.'s request."

The model admitted she was concerned that dating McCarron might appear to him as a move to boost her "celebrity status," when all she wants is for them to have a "real, legitimate connection." Webb fears the incident during Monday's game could end their new relationship, which is less than a month old.

McCarron is reportedly "upset that he's been overshadowed by Webb's hotness," according to TMZ sources. An insider revealed that McCarron shared his concerns with Webb, and a news reporter had arrived at her house to interview her personally but she declined the request.

Donald Trump also took notice of Webb's fame and suggested she appear on "TODAY" after he praised both Webb and McCarron on Twitter on Tuesday.

"Miss Alabama, Katherine Webb, has been a truly great representative of the Ms. USA Organization...We are proud of her!" he wrote. "What a great couple... Katherine Webb and AJ McCarron. They are both winners!"

Trump added that he will ask Webb to be a judge at the upcoming Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas.

Webb confirmed to Lauer on "TODAY" that she has been invited by Trump to judge the next Miss USA pageant, but that she wanted to focus for now on the "real winners" of Monday's BCS Championship game- her boyfriend and his team.
