Don Johnson has decided to terminate his lawsuit against the company that co-produced the TV series Nash Bridges after it paid him a reported $19 million, according to Yahoo News.

Rysher Productions was ordered to pay the former Nash Bridges star $23 million in total profits earned from the show. Additionally, Rysher was also ordered to pay an additional $28.5 million in interest.

In addition to Nash Bridges, Rysher also internationally distributes hit television series from HBO like Oz and Sex and the City.

It was reported that Rysher both appealed and alleged jury misconduct in the case. They also felt that the amount of interest in what Johnson should actually receive was calculated incorrectly. The jurors had initially decided to award Johnson $15 million before deciding through further calculations that the actor was entitled to much more.

In 2011, the California Court of Appeal agreed with Rysher, stating that Johnson should receive only $15 million, plus interest as of July 2010, when the verdict had been passed down. According to Yahoo News, the larger dollar amount factored in interest that would have started accruing years before the verdict.

In January, Rysher reportedly paid Johnson $19 million and he signed a document bringing the dispute against Rysher to a close. The court records disclosing the payment were first discovered by The Hollywood Reporter.

Johnson rose to fame initially as a TV star in the popular NBC series Miami Vice, starring as Detective James "Sonny" Crockett, from 1984-1989. Since then, Johnson would go on to star in films like Tin Cup which co-starred Kevin Costner and Born Yesterday, the 1993 remake which also starred his ex-wife, actress Melanie Griffith.

Nash Bridges originally aired on CBS from 1996 to 2001.
