Brian Williams was reportedly bothered by NBC's changes to Rock Center, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Williams referred to the show's rearrangement in a segment that depicted Rock Center as a "nomadic settler in the West 'not wanted' on Wednesdays and displaced by American Idol and Modern Family."

The news program debuted in its new 10 p.m. time slot on Friday, February 8 and brought in 5.3 million viewers - which was some of the show's best numbers in months.

Alexandra Wallace, the executive producer for Rock Center, made the following statement to The Huffington Post about the show:

"Brian's take on our new time slot was truly funny and the furthest thing from 'angry.' He made light of our travels through the schedule-and we are all thrilled by Rock Center's strong ratings after our Friday night debut. We look forward to settling down in our new home."

The Hollywood Reporter recently published an article about the network's grief after a month had passed in which NBC had dropped from first place to fourth. THR reporter Marisa Guthrie highlighted the network's various programming issues and said that the ratings for Rock Center, which was recently pushed to Friday nights, looked good in comparison with the show Do No Harm, which replaced the show on Thursdays.

"But NBC brass might have upset Williams with the move," Guthrie continued.

He wrapped Rock Center on February 8 with a segment that depicted the Friday time slot, according to THR, as its 'latest resting place.' Sources at NBC News claimed that Williams was angry at Burbank execs for not giving the show the promotion that it was promised. Any plans to broadcast the show multiple times weekly have also been scrapped.

Rock Center has been moved three times since its debut back in November 2011: from Monday night to Wednesday night, then to Thursday night and now Friday night.
