NCIS will lose a main character at the end of its current season, which has fellow NCIS stars and fans feeling all sorts of ways.

David McCallum Was 'Astonished' Over Cote de Pablo's Decision To Leave 'NCIS'

Michael Weatherly decided it is time for him to leave NCIS behind once Season 13 concludes in several months, which means viewers of the CBS series will no longer see the movie-loving Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo if the series returns for the fourteenth season.

Brian Dietzen, Weatherly's costar, portrays Jimmy Palmer, the assistant to Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum) and he is being totally understanding of Weatherly's decision to leave the show.

POLL: How Do You Think Michael Weatherly's Character Tony DiNozzo Will Leave 'NCIS' At The End Of Current Season?

"It's been amazing ride, spending the past 13 seasons with the incredibly talented @M_Weatherly," the actor tweeted, noting his 47-year-old costar is "a great friend, actor, father and husband."

"Gonna miss that dude," Dietzen added, hoping their remaining time on set together will consist of plenty of "lunches and dinners."

"Excited to see what you're up to next my friend," Dietzen revealed.

While he is being supportive of Weatherly's decision, Dietzen has one wish before the current season ends. He hopes "we get to see one more glimpse of that friendship" between his character and DiNozzo.

A fan suggested a DiNozzo and Palmer-centric episode, which Dietzen is all for.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
