Entertainment Tonight made an exclusive set visit to the filming of Star Trek Beyond, revealing some interesting bits about changes in the Enterprise.

During the tour we encounter Chris Pine, who plays Captain James T. Kirk, and John Cho, who plays Hikaru Sulu. While the actors point out some of the changes on the revved up Enterprise, it is also revealed that Sulu will have a daughter in this movie, and he will miss her a lot stepping aboard the spaceship. Cho also added that there was another twist related to his character's daughter which fans will have to wait to find out when the film releases.

Star Trek Beyond is the third entry in the rebooted sci-fi franchise, which already includes Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: Into the Darkness (2013). The first two were helmed by J.J. Abrams, who's now busy heading up the Star Wars sequels. This installment is directed by Fast & Furious reviver Justin Lin with the familiar crew of Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Sulu (John Cho) and Chekov (Anton Yelchin) all set to return.

One new face to look forward to will be Idris Elba, although nothing is known about his character right now. He's being played as the surprise card much like Benedict Cumberbatch in Star Trek Into the Darkness.

In other casting news, it's been revealed that Lydia Wilson will also be joining the crew, but little is known about her character so far.

The movie will be released on July 22.
