'The X-Files' 2016: What Did Margret's Last Words Really Mean? Writer Glen Morgan Explains

Agent Einstein (Lauren Ambrose) and Agent Miller (Robbie Amell) will make their debut in Feb. 15's "Babylon," and while viewers have yet to meet the FBI's younger generation, there are already rumors that the pair may be in line to take over the franchise (see video below).

Is a spinoff really in the cards? Ambrose tackled the subject while speaking with TV Line.

'The X-Files' 2016: Chris Carter Explains Why Episodes Are Airing Out Of Order, Did It Affect The Plot?

"All I know is it was a great place to work, and I would love to do more," Ambrose said, explaining that her agents have not mentioned anything. "I love working with Chris and David and Gillian [Anderson]. They're all amazing, talented people... and I would like nothing more than to do more."

Series creator Chris Carter was asked the same question back at New York Comic Con. Unfortunately, his answer was equally as vague.

"People can speculate, but [Amell and Amborse's contracts] weren't negotiated that way," Carter told TV Line TV Line  , adding that right now he is "focused on doing the show with David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson]."
