Lisa Vanderpump 2016: 'RHOBH' Reached Out To Kim Richards After Monty Brinson Death [VIDEO]

Lisa Vanderpump and Kim Richards haven't always been friends on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but recently, the two women chatted, via text.

In a new interview, Vanderpump revealed she contacted Richards weeks ago after hearing about the tragic passing of Richards' ex-husband and longtime friend, Monty Brinson.

"I've texted her backwards and forwards and she's been very sweet," Vanderpump told E! News on Wednesday.

Although Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, were invited to attend Brinson's memorial service earlier this month, they were unfortunately unable to attend. Still, things between the reality stars seem to be quite civil at this point.

"She's so lovely and the problems that she's kind of had, it's been very difficult for her, I would imagine," Vanderpump explained. "But you know what, really, I hate? It's now if I see the show and I see people being negative about her, I hate that."

While Vanderpump said she was "1,000 percent sure" Richards remains sober, the last few weeks have been understandably hard. Luckily, however, her family has been close by, and despite their ongoing turmoil amongst one another, both Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton were in attendance during Brinson's funeral.
