The 100 is taking us back to the Ark...97 years in the past.

'The 100' Season 3: Want To See More Bryan & Miller? Jason Rothenberg Teases New Ship

It's time for viewers to get a first-hand look at the dawn of the nuclear apocalypse, and what better time to sow the seeds of discord than during the aptly titled "Thirteen." By time the episode comes to an end, Earth will be a wasteland and Polaris will be en route to its new gravity-bound home.

"It's a little bit of an origin story. It's a flashback to before the war," showrunner Jason Rothenberg explained in a CW preview. "In fact, we actually see the apocalypse that created the world we know as The 100 happen from the vantage point of people that were on space stations at the time."

What happened in the past can't be changed, but Clarke and Co. do have a shot at preventing whatever new mayhem ALIE is busy creating. The answers seem to lie with the thirteenth station and those that guard it - Titus and rest of Polis. Season 3's two main plot lines will finally collide in the final moments of episode 7.

"We have these two great stories - we have this Grounder political continuing conflict between the Skaikru and Polis and the twelve clans and how they all fit together, and we have this AI story," Rothenberg explained. "This is the episode where the two shall meet and we realize at last what it all means in a mind blowing way at the end of the episode."
