Another death is coming on The 100, but this time the writers want you to be prepared.

Death is an ever-present specter in the post-apocalyptic world, and it swings its scythe with impunity. Men, women, and children have fallen in droves over the last three seasons, but after Lexa's death caused an outcry from viewers during "Thirteen," series creator Jason Rothenberg doesn't want to get fans hopes up once more.

"This is going to be a crazy season...it's already been a crazy season. More characters that we love are going to die this season and it's going to happen soon," Rothenberg told TV Insider. "I think that people need to be prepared for that."

Viewers were crushed by Lexa's death for myriad reasons, chief of which was the idea that The 100 had slipped into the "Bury Your Gays" trope after building up fans Clexa expectations. As the season continues, however, fans should expect any and all characters to be on the line.

"That's why science-fiction is such a great genre, because we can try to make a point and have messages and the message here is that race, sexuality, those things shouldn't matter, and that extends to the way that characters die," Rothenberg explained. "In this world, it doesn't matter, you can die if you're gay or straight, you can die if you're a series regular or not."

At the moment, Kane ((Henry Ian Cusick) , Sinclair, and Lincoln are in the most danger. Pike is out for blood following Kane's attempted coup, and as his accomplices, Sinclair and Lincoln lives will be on the line as well during "Stealing Fire" (see a preview below).

"Clarke (Eliza Taylor) discovers a shocking truth, and Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) is forced to make a decision that could have devastating consequences," The CW teased. "Meanwhile, Kane and Abby (Paige Turco) share a moment."
