Is Derek Hough willing to throw his hat in the ring to co-host Live! with Kelly?

Hough, who rose to fame through Dancing With the Stars, is apparently interested in being the replacement for Michael Strahan on Live!

A new report via HollywoodLife.com suggests he may be interested in branching out into the talk show world.

"Derek wants to branch out from his Dancing With The Stars fame and do something different and since he has ties with many at ABC, he is throwing himself into the running for 'Live' and would love to have a chance with co-hosting," an insider told the publication. "He knows it's a leap, but all he wants is a chance to prove that he would be great."

Hough took off the current season of Dancing With the Stars after winning with Bindi Irwin last fall. The always busy dancer is preparing for roles in NBC's upcoming Hairspray Live! in addition to Singin' in the Rain on Broadway.

There's no telling how Hough would be able to co-host a daily talk show in addition to all of this, but fans will likely be happy to know that he may be interested.

Hough has been on Live! several times in the past, and has even guest co-hosted with Kelly Ripa.

Live! with Kelly and Michael has now been rebranded to just Live! with Kelly as the show continues its search for Strahan's replacement. The retired NFL star is set to move on to Good Morning America for a permanent gig.

Ripa is co-hosting with several different celebrities this week. Monday was Jimmy Kimmel, Tuesday was Jussie Smollett and future guest co-hosts include Cedric the Entertainer, David Muir, Daniel Dae Kim, Fred Savage, Seal and Andy Cohen.
