Liv Tyler might not know much about the upcoming final season of HBO's The Leftovers, but suffice to say it should be good.

Tyler, who plays the utterly terrifying cult leader Meg on The Leftovers, spoke recently to ADTV about the third (and final) season, which is currently being filmed in Australia, as well as her complicated character.

The actress admitted that she doesn't know exactly what fans should expect for season 3, but does have a vague idea of what's coming.

"I did a little bit of filming, I have a very vague idea of something that might happen, but really I don't know because they are still writing it," Tyler admitted. "They have a whole outline and then over the course of a certain amount of months, I think the amount of work and dedication and focus that Damon [Lindelof] and Tom Perrotta and the team of writers have put into this is really super intense, quite extraordinary the level of writing they are doing. I don't think it is normal for television writing. It goes above and beyond. It takes a lot out of them to write each episode - that many complex characters and stories."

While she cannot give any specific teasers, she simply said that she thinks the third season is going to be "really really good."

Looking back, Meg has had a huge evolution from the first episode of The Leftovers to the season 2 finale, which finds her and the Guilty Remnant taking over the town of Miracle - all with a smile on her face. Tyler spoke about how this cult brought out a whole other side to Meg.

"Even within all that she still has a problem with authority, and she's wondering what does that mean, and is still kind of searching, trying to figure everything out - you see a lot more of that in the second series. But it is such a crazy, bizarre sort of world, I always imagine if something like that happened, a lot of people are going to be in denial, pretending nothing happened, or that you're over-reacting," she said. "I think Meg was just pissed off that everyone was just trying to go back to normal, like everything was normal. She was trying to be in this relationship with this man and her mother was dead and her world had changed, and couldn't pretend like everything was normal, and I think that is something that she carries with her all the time. She definitely acts out, and you could say she is the bad guy, acting badly, but I think she is just searching for some truth."

The Leftovers season 3 does not yet have a premiere date on HBO.
