Tom Keen's Blacklist tenure is secured through midseason, at the very least. The rogue turned unflappable ally is set to become viewer's cicerone into the world of Redemption, but he still has a few loose ends to tie up over on the mother ship.

You may have noticed that Blacklist: Redemption did not make NBC's fall line up. Never fear. The spinoff is still in the works; it just won't enter the schedule until 2017.

"We start shooting in November," series creator Jon Bokenkamp told curious fans. "Not sure yet when we will air. After the first of the year."

The production schedule will give Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Liz (Megan Boone) ample time to deal with The Blacklist's season 3 cliffhanger. Alexander Kirk shattered the couple's plans for domestic bliss, and Tom will be on a mission to reunite his small family when season 4 hits screens on Sept. 22.

"Tom will definitely be in a number of the beginning episodes - or so I'm told - in Season 4," Eggold informed TV Line. "It will partly be to send us down the trajectory of this new series, and for the characters, we'll find out what happens between Tom and Liz and what happens with this baby girl they both share."

As Redemption picks up speed, Tom will have a chance to jump between the two series.

"Need to figure that out, but I suspect there will be crossovers," writer Daniel Cerone teased back in May.

In the meantime, Eggold is confidant fans will enjoy diving into Tom's next adventure.

"I got the script, and I've really been pleasantly surprised at every turn. Not because I didn't have faith in the writers, because they're fantastic, but it's hard to do a spinoff," Eggold explained. "It's easy for it to either be a carbon copy or stale. But they've really done this great job of incorporating what's wonderful about The Blacklist and adding a lot of new elements to make it its own show."
