Desperate Housewives star Tuc Watkins just revealed that not only is gay but a single father of two.

On an upcoming episode of Hallmark Channel's Marie, Watkins opened about his personal life. The actor opened up for the first time about being a gay man and father to four-month-old twins Catchen and Curtis via a surrogate.

He spoke of being certain of things even in his youth. They would later help to form his identity.

"I knew I was gay [and] I knew one day I was going to be a dad," Watkins said.

Watkins spoke of the joy his four month old twins brought to his life. He said he was sleep deprived, but that giggles of his children more than made up for it.

"[It]makes all those midnight feedings totally worth it," he said.

The 46-year old portrayed gay neighbor Bob Hunter on Desperate Housewives from 2007 to 2012. His storyline on the show mirrored what was going on in his life at that time.

"I played a gay man who was married to his husband who was trying to adopt a kid," he said.

"In real life, at the same time, I was a gay single man trying to have a kid through surrogacy. So, life and art were imitating each other."

Watkins was joined on Marie  by his sister, Courtney Watkins. She is a teacher and host of the Disney web series The Possibility Shop. The appearance will air on April 29, the same day that Watkins returns to the role of David Vickers Buchanan on the rebooted One Life to Live.

Watkins recently shared that he told a fan at an event that the possibility of the show's returning to form was no longer viable. He soon found out how wrong he was.

"I said, 'OK, look - it's never coming back. We all wanted it to come back, everyone made a great, grass roots campaign to try and bring it back, but we have to face the fact that 'One Life To Live' is really gone and we all have to move on,'" he told AccessHollywood.com

"Cut to about two weeks later where I get a phone call saying, 'One Life To Live' is back, do you want to be on it?' - once again proving that Tuc Watkins is usually wrong."
