Halawa has one less inmate to worry about. Hawaii Five-0's Adam Noshimuri is on the outside once more.

Gabriel (Christopher Sean) is dead and gone, and soon the last vestiges of his reign of terror will fade away. Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) landed in prison thanks to Waincroft's medaling, but the early episodes of season 7 will bring Kono's (Grace Park) husband back into the fold. Although it's been a long year for the newlyweds, Adam's return will give the couple a chance to start their marriage free of the Yakuza's grasping influence.

Your heart will overflow with feels when you watch a sneak peek of the Noshimuri's reunion. Provided by showrunner Peter Lenkov, the following clips put the light back into Kono's smile.

Don't expect Adam to pop up in the premiere, however. Hawaii Five-0 will eschew the hiatus time jump for one situated after McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) release from the hospital.

"We love Ian, so we want him back," Lenkov told Entertainment Weekly. "What you've got to remember is McGarrett's recovering, so I'm going to start the season with him coming out of the hospital, so it's going to be less than four months."

That's not to say Five-0 won't have their hands full in "Makaukau 'oe e Pa'ani (Ready to Play)." A serial killer will choose to target his fellow serial killers in the season 7 premiere, and it will be up to McGarrett's team to figure out why.

Hawaii Five-0 will return to CBS on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
