Mark Wahlberg will head back to his hometown for a Boston based reality series set to air on A&E.

The Pain & Gain actor will be executive producer of the six-episode, unscripted fare.

According to Deadline, the inspiration for the series comes from Wahalberg's work on 2010's The Fighter. The films female characters were tough yet driven, something that resonates with the new shows main characters.

The show focuses on four women of working class background as they strive to make it through the day to day and dream of accomplishing so much more, reports Broadcasting & Cable. According to Deadline, the reality program runs along the main themes of "exceeding expectations and getting second chances."

With Wahlberg's company Closest to the Hole Productions leading the way, Stephen Levinson (Broken City), Bill Thompson, and Stephanie Drachkovitch (House of Consignment) will also produce while Jennifer Colbert (House of Consignment) will serve as showrunner, according to Deadline.com

This is not the first outing for Wahlberg as a producer, and his list of works include Broken City, Boardwalk Empire, Entourage, and The Fighter.

A&E is taking a risk with another Boston based show after seeing low ratings for Southie Rules after it premiered in January, according to Broadcasting & Cable.
