She was doing a great job using the teleprompter as she hosted the New Year's Eve Gala, but after accidentally reading aloud about her own attempt to sabotage Mariah (Camryn Grimes), Hilary (Mishael Morgan) will suffer the consequences of her actions on The Young and the Restless.

Mariah realized Hilary was the one who caused her embarrassing fall during her brief stint as the host of GC Buzz, and manipulated the script Hilary was reading from to get her to admit it in the room crowded with people. Now, after realizing what happened, Hilary will storm off the stage to confront Mariah about what happened.

"How dare you do this to me?" She demands in a preview clip for the Thursday, Dec. 29 episode.

"Payback's a b**ch, am I right?" Mariah retorts.

Following the truth coming out, Devon (Bryton James) will demand answers, since he wants to know why the women are at one another's throats. After Mariah tells him Hilary tripped her by pushing a cord into her path and then officially quits her position as a producer on GC Buzz, Devon will turn to his wife for an explanation, and will be devastated and heartbroken when he finally realizes that all the warnings he's been given about her have been right-and she has never changed and never will.

Then, as he too storms off, Hillary will begin to realize she may have genuinely gone too far this time, because Devon hasn't reacted with forgiving her when she pulls him close and reminds him of their connection. And she will be left alone when she gets back home and realizes he isn't there. However, perhaps the biggest consequence of her actions will be that she hurts him in ways she never expected, as he drives off in the new sports car he won at the auction, and hits the accelerator as he drives through the snow-crashing the car in the process.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
