They've waited the better portion of a year and gone through some tough times to get there, but now that Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nathan's (Ryan Paevey) wedding day has arrived the problems plaguing them seem to be multiplying on General Hospital.

Maxie is sick with a cold but still determined to marry the man she loves. But the drama between Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Nina (Michelle Stafford) led to her being unsupervised as she took medication, and accidentally took the pill to help her sleep through the night. Now, Lulu and Robin (Kimberly McCullogh) are in crisis mode as they try to find a way to revive an unconscious Maxie so she can in fact get married.

"Come hell or high water, this girl is getting married today," Robin says in a preview clip for the Thursday, Dec. 29 episode.

Meanwhile, an even bigger issue could actually be threatening Maxie and Nathan's happily-ever-after ending. One of the problems they faced in the last year was when Nathan finally confessed to his previous marriage to Claudette, as well as the fact that he shot Griffin (Matt Cohen) in a drunken rage when he realized the two had been having an affair. Then when Claudette came to town she caused more problems, specifically when she tried to pass off Charlotte as Nathan's daughter.

But, even though Claudette is gone, she still seems to have the ability to keep Nathan from marrying Maxie and moving on with his life, because the two are still legally married, something Nathan thought had been taken care of, but has now learned it never was.

"I'm still married to Claudette," he says to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) in the clip.

Now, even if Maxie can be revived from her deep sleep, it looks like she and Nathan may not be able to get their New Year's Eve wedding after all.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
