NBA superstar Tim Duncan is in the middle of a messy divorce, but new reports have indicated he once hired a private investigator to spy on his estranged wife, Amy Duncan.

The San Antonio Spurs' center known for his calm demeanor on and off the court, spent the last 12 years married to Amy. The couple met as college students at Wake Forest University. Tim played for the basketball team at the university, while Amy was a cheerleader.

However, a divorce case filed on March 27 in Bexar County District Court by the former college sweethearts, indicates that their once-lived romance is over. The San Antonio Express-News reported that the legal papers includes the couple's initials-T.T.D. and A.S.D., as well as their wedding date and the dates of their two children.

Amy is believed to have intially filed the divorce papers. However, the publication also noted that Tim hired a private investigator last fall to monitor Amy's behavior. She stated in the divorce documents that the couple's marriage was "insupportable" because of discord and conflict. She reportedly moved out of the couple's home a month after the papers were filed.

Enstars reported earlier, that in separate documents filed by Duncan, he revealed that the couple signed a prenup which he wants enforced. He also said that he hopes to come to an agreement with his estranged wife that will benefit their two children.

The NBA star also claimed that he was too busy with the NBA Finals to continue with the divorce.

The document stated that the divorce proceedings "is currently making extraordinary demands on him and hopefully will continue to make those demands for the next 30 or so days."

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have advanced to the NBA Finals championship. They will play the winner from the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers series.
