BBC One's Sherlock continues to attracted increasing interest over its third series, which won't be premiering until early in 2014.

According to Den of Geek, the highly popular program will be attaching a brand new villian named Charles Augustus Magnussen, which will be played by actor Lars Mikkelson.

The 49-year-old is known for his work on the Borgen TV series as Soren Ravn and 2001's A King's Game.

In a photo that has surfaced, Mikkelson can be seen decked out in a suit jacket, collared shirt and black tie during the upcoming season of the program.

Interesting to note, the series 3 finale, which is titled His Last Vow, will begin shooting in Cardiff on Monday, stated the site.

In other Sherlock happenings, The Sun, had reported on the gratification that Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) felt when he got its finale script, which he said was similar to receiving another "birthday present." The actor also commended showrunner Steven Moffat in the process.

"I just got the script and it's another early birthday present, because it is amazing. I don't want to hype it too much because we haven't made it yet but what a script! Steven Moffat is brilliant. We shoot in about a week and a half's time," he said.
