In an exclusive by The Hollywood Reporter, it was just revealed that James Wan, the visionary director of Aquaman, co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises, and creator of The Conjuring universe, has his next project: Adapting Stinger into a half-hour horror-thriller series for Peacock. The series, titled Teacup, will be written by Yellowstone's Ian McCulloch.

Currently in the development stage, Teacup was described in the article as centering on a "disparate group of people on a Texas ranch who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat."

Stinger, the book the show is based on, was first published in 2015, and was described as taking place "during a 24-hour period in Inferno, Texas, a town that's been driven to the brink by racial tension, gang violence and a collapsing economy."

"Things quickly get worse when an unidentified spacecraft crashes in the desert outside of town, followed by a second craft bearing the alien being who will soon be known as Stinger. Stinger is a kind of interstellar hunter on a mission he intends to complete, whatever the cost. He brings with him an endless array of technological marvels and an infinite capacity for destruction that threaten the existence of Inferno, its inhabitants, and the larger world beyond."

With such creative minds attached, we're looking forward to seeing what Wan will bring to the small screen. Famous for his kinetic energy and passion for his projects, we're sure Wan will bring a fascinating spin to such a far-out story.
