Jennifer Aniston playfully talked about her split from Brad Pitt years after their divorce.

Ellen DeGeneres' "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" final episode welcomed Aniston to the stage, and the actress also became emotional while bidding farewell.

But after the moving talks about their favorite times together, DeGeneres asked Aniston how she handled the ending of the hit show, "Friends." Although the talk show host only asked about the flick, the actress also mentioned her split from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

"Well, I got a divorce and went into therapy. And then I did a movie called The Break-Up. I just kind of leaned into the end. I just was like, 'You know what guys, let's make this a completely new chapter. Let's end everything and then start new,'" Aniston said, per OK Magazine.

Pitt and Aniston tied the knot in 2000, but they announced their split in January 2005 after the actor met his now-ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.

The actor married his "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star in 2014 but split in 2016. They shared six children together - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox.

The actress, meanwhile, also got remarried. She said "yes" to Justin Theroux in 2015 before divorcing two years later.

Jennifer Aniston Easily Opens Up About Relationship With Brad Pitt

Although they did not end up together, Aniston freely talks about her ex-husband from time to time.

In June, she told "The Howard Stern Show" the experience she had while doing a live table reading with Pitt for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" in September 2020. She revealed that there is no awkwardness between them after their split.

"Brad and I are buddies, we're friends," she explained, as quoted by People. "And we speak, and there's no oddness at all, except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting there to be, or assumed there to be."

Meanwhile, Pitt also opened up about his marriages several times, with one instance occurring during his interview with Elle in 2018.

At that time, the "Ad Astra" actor said that his marriages had been successful although they all had to end. Pitt said that putting an end to the relationships only happened because they chose to be happy outside the arrangement that no longer makes them feel positive about themselves.

They remain close in the past years, and their relationship once sparked reconciliation rumor.
