'Justice for Amber Heard’ Trending – Is Social Media Now on Her Side?

Amber Heard is still defending herself throughout the bombshell six-week defamation trial.

She told NBC News' Savannah Guthrie in a pre-recorded interview that aired on Tuesday and a second section that will appear on Wednesday that she would "stand by every word in my testimony until my dying day."

But, now that "Justice for Amber Heard" is trending on social media, is social media now on her side?

Interview with Amber Heard

Amber Heard discussed potentially damning information that may have swayed the jury in her first interview since a Virginia jury sided with Johnny Depp two weeks ago.

The "Aquaman" actress said that the jury was aware of the many social media attacks against her.

She told "Today," "I think the vast majority of this trial was played out on social media. I think that this trial is an example of that gone haywire, gone amok. And the jury is not immune to that."

When Guthrie asked Heard if she thinks the jury have seen those, the actress responded, "How could they not? I think even the most well-intentioned juror, it would have been impossible to avoid this."

In the same interview, Heard said she felt "less than human" throughout the entire trial, calling the entire six-weeks as "the most humiliating and horrible thing I've been through."

'Justice For Amber Heard'

As soon as the first interview was released on Tuesday, "Justice for Amber Heard" immediately started to trend on Twitter.

Though it may seem like majority of social media have changed their mind about Heard, that is certainly not the case.

In fact, one person said that supporters of the 36-year-old actress are "supporters are the only people who will say they 'believe victims of abuse' while supporting a woman who is not only an abuser but was proven a liar."

Another tweeted, "this hashtag is so damn embarrassing. stop enabling and trying to make heroes out of liars."

A third person pointed out, "if your tweeting #justiceforamberheard then ur part of the problem. Abuse has no gender, she's a psychotic bitch. Accept it."

But the hashtag showed a bit of support for the actress also.

According to one person, "amber heard was shamed, hated and dragged through the mud more than any school shooter, murderer, rapist, abuser ever has and that is something you simply cannot deny."

While another person tweeted, "I was looking forward to this interview but it's hard to watch Amber be disbelieved yet again. Savannah's bias is very obvious. The fact Amber said she will stand by her truth until her dying day. I love that she's not giving into them,she's not backing down."
