It's been 4 months since the 2022 Oscars, and co-host Regina Hall finally acknowledged Will Smith's apology after what transpired between him and Chris Rock.

Following the infamous Will Smith Oscar Slap in March, the now-banned actor recently posted a public apology video on his Youtube. As of now, Chris Rock has not yet given any comment on the apology video issued to him.

Stars from all over Hollywood have already shared their thoughts on the issue. Now, in a recent interview with Variety, Oscar co-host Regina Hall opens up on her views at the recent apology video.

"I think it's a tough thing and I know it's a difficult road. The first step is he apologized. How people see it, it's up to them...I know that wasn't easy." Regina Hall stated. "Redemption. The whole point is we can evolve from maybe where we are."

The "Master" actress also likened Will's current experience to the film, "Honk for Jesus", wherein a pastor's wife struggles with reopening their church after a scandal.

Regina Hall 'Cancelled' for Sexual Harassment on Oscars

Despite the unexpected issues that transpired in this year's Oscars, the actress expressed that she still enjoyed the experience and is open to hosting the awards show a second time. However, some viewers found Hall's jokes on-stage to be a bit inappropriate.

In a COVID-related segment, Hall quipped that some stars, specifically male actors, needed to get "tested" backstage. Regina's joke called on stars like Timothée Chalamet, Simu Liu, Bradley Cooper, and Tyler Perry up to the stage. The skit continued with Hall feeling other male actors like Jason Momoa with her hands in what she called a "COVID pat down".

Audiences have mixed reactions to the nature of her joke, and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Unfortunately, a majority of Twitter sought to cancel the Oscars host. Journalist Piers Morgan shared his distaste for the awkward moment on his Twitter, implying that things would have been called out immediately if the genders were reversed.

Regina Hall co-hosted this year's Oscars alongside Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer.
