Cameron Diaz Returning to Hollywood: Actress to Star in a New Movie After 8 Years

After eight years since the release of her last film credit, Cameron Diaz is ready to hit the big screen again as it was announced that she would be coming out of her retirement.

In early reports, the "Bad Teacher" star will be teaming up with Jamie Foxx for a Netflix film titled "Back in Action."

The two Hollywood stars are familiar with each other as they previously collaborated in movies like 1999's "Any Given Sunday" and her last movie before retiring, "Annie," in 2014.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Foxx shared a voice recording of his conversation with the actress.

At first, Diaz said she was "anxious" as she didn't know how to un-retire.

The actor sought help from his good pal Tom Brady, who infamously retired this year only to return to the National Football League after 40 days.

"I was talking to Jamie and he said you needed a few tips on how to un-retire, I'm relatively successful at un-retiring," the football star said.

The movie will be directed by Seth Gordon and the script was based on a script he wrote with Brendan O'Brien.

Executive producers include Foxx, Mark McNair, O'Brien, and Datari Turner, while Beau Bauman and Gordon serve as producers.

In an interview with CBS News about leaving the limelight, Diaz said acting "consumed" her life for so long and it feels nice to step back "for a second."
