"A Different World" star Jasmine Guy exposes the "disrespect" towards co-star Lisa Bonet and what led to her exit from the show.

Lisa Bonet starred as Denise Huxtable on "The Cosby Show", and later on reprised her role in the series spin-off "A Different World". The spin-off show aired for six seasons from 1987 to 1993. Lisa Bonet was one of the main characters during the first season. However, following her exit from the show, Bonet reprised her role in a guest appearance in season 3.

"A Different World" co-stars Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison recently made a guest appearance on an episode of The Breakfast Club radio show, where the two exposed the show's disrespect to fellow co-star Lisa Bonet. According to Guy, producers on the NBC show had mistreated the "The Cosby Show" actress, to which they were infuriated but were not able to intervene.

"That first season, I'm telling you, it was whack, and I didn't like the way they were treating Lisa Bonet. You disrespect her in front of an audience, in front of me, you disrespecting me too." Guy explained.

The 'Disrespect' to Lisa Bonet

Elaborating on the "disrespect", Guy details how the 54-year-old star was repeatedly yelled at on set, with their show seniors pointing fingers at her in shame. Additionally, the former "A Different World" stars revealed that Bonet had to hire security following the incidents.

"I'm like, that's a sweet girl because you're not getting up on me like that. And you know, we've dealt with b*tches. We're [Guy and Hardison] from New York, as far as choreographers and directors and whatnot. I was like 'oh no, you not treating her like that.' She had to hire security." Guy recalled on The Breakfast Club radio show.

Bonet's Exit From 'A Different World'

Doubling down on exposing the show's producers, Guy acknowledged the rumors of Bill Cosby allegedly firing Lisa Bonet on "A Different World" due to being pregnant at the time.

While Bonet was fired from the spin-off series, she, later on, returned to "The Cosby Show" after giving birth to her child. In 1991, the 54-year-old actress left the show and was not invited back for the series finale.

According to Guy, she had seen no problem with incorporating Lisa Bonet's pregnancy onto the show, however, show creator Bill Cosby thought otherwise. As of now, Bill Cosby is currently serving 3-10 years in prison for convicted sexual assault since September 2018.
