While Baron Davis is mostly recognized for his basketball skills, the NBA star is set to host the fashion-themed TV show, How I Rock It.

The series, which is part of soon-to-be launched Esquire Network, will profile other athletes, musicians and designers who have a footing in men's fashion today.

"We are featuring guys who are really eclectic individuals," he told EnStars during Esquire magazine's 80th anniversary and its network launch party in New York City on Tuesday. "They love to do really cool things that encompasses who they are and embodies why they are successful."

Some of the aforementioned guests include musician Jim James, actor Jason Lee as well as fashion designers John Varvatos and Mark McNairy. Davis described these men as "entrepreneurs who are doing really cool things in their personal time."

The 34-year-old, who played for the New York Knicks in 2012, said viewers can expect to see a great deal of "originality" on the series.

How I Rock It, however, won't be Davis' television debut. The Screen Actors Guild member appeared on the TV show The Forgotten in 2010 and also in the 2012 movie That's My Boy starring Adam Sandler. He also earned the title of producer when he worked on the film, Asylum, in 2005. He has since produced nine more projects.

The California native's appreciation for film developed from an early age.

"I think it brings people together, sends messages, makes people laugh and shares information," Davis told The New York Times in 2008. "And movies are something that as a kid growing up were the one thing that you could always look forward to."

One of the several shows picked up by the Esquire Network, How I Rock It, premieres in November.
