Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan recently revealed some alternate endings that he and his writers considered for the series finale.

A record-breaking 10.3 million viewers watched Walt (Bryan Cranston) save Jesse (Aaron Paul) before dying in the Nazis' meth lab in the series finale of Breaking Bad Sunday night. However, this wasn't the only ending discussed by the show's writers.

Gilligan appeared on the Breaking Bad Insider Podcast after Sunday's finale and revealed that M60 machine gun seen in the midseason premiere wasn't always intended for the Nazis.

"We had versions we talked about, where the police were coming to get him and he uses it on the police. But we didn't like that. It didn't seem right," Gilligan revealed.

He also said that there could have been an alternate storyline in which Jesse was in prison and Walt comes to save him.

"We had a version where he goes and breaks Jesse out of jail just as the Nazis were going to knock Jesse off in jail," Gilligan continued. "And he comes in and uses the M60 to lay waste to an entire prison or prison bus."

None of these storylines would have been right, according to Gilligan, who explained that it would have been out of character for Walt.

The creator revealed that there was another alternative ending in which Walt started a new life in New Hampshire, found a new wife and became a chemistry teacher. There were also endings in which Skyler (Anna Gunn) either killed herself or ran away with Walt.
