One of the more traditional rituals many go through on the New Year's Eve holiday is marathoning TV shows.

Here are some of the most significant TV marathons for New Year's Eve 2013:

AMC will be airing the entire series of The Walking Dead starting at 9 a.m. The popular zombie drama is currently in its fourth season, so first-time viewers can get caught up on New Year's Eve before the season 4 midseason premiere on Feb. 9.

For science fiction fans, BBC will be rerunning old episodes of Doctor Who throughout the New Year's holiday. The network begins airing episodes at 1 p.m. and will continue through to New Year's Day.

USA has a double dose of marathons planned for New Year's Eve. First, reruns of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit runs from 4 a.m. - 7 p.m. on the USA network. At 8 p.m., the network will air reruns of Modern Family until 12:30 a.m. New Year's Day.

The Twilight Zone is a staple of holiday marathons, and Syfy will air numerous classic episodes into the new year. The network begins airing the horror classic at 8 a.m. all the way through to the new year.

For reality show junkies, many cable channels have scheduled marathons for their most popular shows. TLC is rerunning Here Comes Honey Boo Boo starting at 4 p.m. and concluding on New Year's Day. A&E begins airing Storage Wars at 6 p.m., which will also last into the new year. Finally, HGTV has made New Year's Eve House Hunters Day as it will air House Hunters International from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. followed by House Hunters from 8 p.m. to the new year.
