Television's most famous cannibal is preparing to dish out a second course on NBC, and Hannibal fans can snack on a new trailer while they wait.

The second season of the Bryan Fuller created drama is set to pick up not long after the events of last year's "Savoureux." Now that Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) has been seemingly framed for the murder of Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl), he is an unwilling resident at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. Armed with the knowledge of Dr. Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) true identity as the Chesapeake Ripper, the encephalitis patient must rely on the FBI's Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) to investigate his claims.

Meanwhile, Graham will be trying to puzzle out how exactly Abigail's ear managed to find it's way into his stomach.

"I'm going to remember, and when I do, there will be a reckoning," Will warns Hannibal in the new trailer (see video below).

However, what really has fans on the edge of their seat is the upcoming fight between a bloodstained, knife-wielding Hannibal and the suspicious Crawford. Although previously released promotional photos show that this battle is scheduled to go down in the premiere, viewers may be wondering how Dr. Lecter is also set to assist the FBI in several cases throughout the season.

One possible explanation for this is that the premiere episode, "Kaiseki," will open in medias res (in the middle of things), according to HitFix.

"We knew how the second season was going to end," Fuller teased in regards to the opening scene during Sunday's Television Critics Association's winter press tour, according to HitFix. "I just didn't want to wait to the end of the season to see it. It was purely selfish."

Hannibal returns to NBC on Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. ET.
