The seventh and final season of Sons of Anarchy might feature more episodes than usual, according to series creator Kurt Sutter.

Discussing Sons of Anarchy's final season in his latest WTF Sutter webisode, the series creator said that he has "inquired" with FX about extending it beyond 13 episodes. The popular motorcycle drama has produced 13 episodes every season except season 4, when it produced 14.

Despite his inquiries, Sutter said that there are many factors that may prevent Sons from getting a longer ending. Sutter noted that FX's licensing fee is increasing and could cause problems in trying to produce even more episodes than the regular 13.

Many of the episodes in season 6 ran over the one-hour mark, which equated to "three or four" extra episodes themselves, according to Sutter. He said that he will "do my best" to limit each episode of the final season to a one-hour chunk rather than go over.

Additionally, fans of Marilyn Manson should be pleased to learn that the controversial rocker might be doing some music for Sons season 7.

Sons of Anarchy season 6 was particularly significant for its amount of violence and murder. Season 6 featured the death of Clay (Ron Perlman) and Tara (Maggie Siff), two of the show's most significant character. The upcoming final season will likely be even more bloody and shocking.

Sons of Anarchy season 7 premieres in fall 2014 on FX, though the network has not yet scheduled a specific premiere date.
