Sadly, HBO's True Blood came to an end on Sunday night after seven entertaining seasons. The show, which premiered in 2008, focused on a Louisiana town mixed up in a supernatural world of vampires, shapeshifters, fairies and werewolves.

The main character, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), was a strong Southern belle, who surpassed so many tribulations and somehow found a way to pull through.

Below are the 7 lessons Ms. Stackhouse taught us throughout the drama-filled seasons.

Always try and be strong.

Even when everyone around her was breaking down, including her brother Jason Stackhouse, Sookie always kept her head high and never backed down. This helped her get what she wanted.

You shouldn't follow the crowd.

Sookie always did what she wanted no matter what anyone in Bon Temps had to say about her.

Embrace what makes you different.

Telepath Sookie grew up knowing she was different. When she eventually discovered she was a fairy, Sookie struggled with her identity. But, on the series finale, she made a decision to keep her fairy powers instead of giving them up and finally embraced who she was.

When you live in a small town, maybe it's best not to date everyone.

Sookie was caught up with a few lovers - Bill, Eric, Alcide and Sam - and they all knew each other. The drama with each also seemed to heat up pretty quickly.

Someone out there may have it worse than you.

During season seven, Sookie was devastated over the loss of Alcide and Bill's impending death. Yet, her good friend, Arlene, had already faced such a fate. Arlene's first husband, Rene, turned out to be a murderer, and then her loving second husband, Terry, set up his own death.

Let life run its course.

When Tara died, Sookie forced Pam to bring her back to life as a vampire. When Tara awoke in her new state, she was furious and Sookie realized she made a big mistake.

You will move on.

The biggest lesson Sookie taught us is that life goes on. On the series finale, Sookie watched the love of her Bill face the "True Death." The episode skipped to the future and showed that Sookie found love with a new man and was pregnant.
