Fans of MTV's groundbreaking series Faking It can continue to celebrate the show's success, as MTV has officially ordered additional episodes for the show's second season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the boundary-shattering romantic comedy series about two best friends who fake being a lesbian couple in order to gain popularity has been picked up for 10 additional episodes for season 2B, set to air next year.

The series, which stars Katie Stevens as Karma and Rita Volk as Amy, the two friends in question, has had high ratings since its April launch on the network, and has explored several controversial topics-including Amy coming to terms with her sexuality, the complications of lying in relationships, and has even revealed that mean girl character Lauren (Bailey De Young) is intersex in a recent episode. It also stars Gregg Sulkin and Michael Willett.

In addition to the news that the show has been picked up for additional episodes, MTV has also released the midseason trailer for the series, showing that an increased amount of drama is expected to unfold on the show, as Karma learns that her boyfriend, Liam (Sulkin) and Amy drunkenly hooked up at the end of the show's first season.

And even though it appears Karma and Liam may work through their problems about his hook-up with Amy, Amy's ability to move on in a new relationship also appears to become an issue-and Karma's jealousy could not only threaten her relationship with Liam, but her friendship with Amy as well.

"You just can't stand the thought that one day Amy might love someone as much as she loves you," Liam says to her in the clip.

The season will also see Lauren experience the effects of hard drugs when she mistakenly takes some ecstasy, and will see Shane (Willett) struggle when his new love interest continues refusing to come out of the closet.

Faking It airs during MTV's #TripleCrushTuesday block at 10:30 p.m.
