After a hard fight by fans to save Dallas, the show won't return to television.

"After a 6-week attempt to try and land our beloved Dallas at another network, we have to inform you that we have not succeeded," executive producers Cynthia Cidre and Michael M. Robin said in a statement on Wednesday. "We so appreciate the outpouring of support by all of you, and the #SaveDallas campaign was a truly remarkable undertaking."

Viewers fought hard to encourage another network to pick up the show following TNT's decision to cancel it in October after three seasons. Fans continuously posted tweets using the hashtag #SaveDallas and even signed a petition on Causes.com, which garnered over 80,000 signatures.

The Dallas reboot kicked off in 2012 with 7 million viewers, but that number began to decrease over time. The season 3 finale on Sept. 22 brought in 1.7 million viewers.

The show featured several cast members from the original show (1978-1991), including Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, and Larry Hagman, who passed away in 2012. The new stars included Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo.

Several of them took to Twitter to address the sad news.
