CBS has announced the air dates for its upcoming miniseries The Dovekeepers.

The four-hour series from executive producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey will premiere from 9 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1.

The show is based on Alice Hoffman's 2011 historical novel of the same name, which became a New York Times bestseller. The book details the true story of 900 Jewish people who the Romans forced to evacuate to Masada in 70 A.D.

The upcoming series stars former NCIS actress Cote de Pablo as Shirah, who is described by CBS as a "sensual, mysterious and fiercely independent single mother with uncanny insights and a quiet and mysterious power."

It also stars veteran actor Sam Neill as the Romano-Jewish scholar, who is considered a controversial historian. His character will be seen conducting interviews with the adult survivors of the Siege of Masada, an important event in Jewish history.

Other actors on the show include Rachel Brosnahan, Diego Boneta and Jonas Armstrong.
