On Wednesday, TV Line posted the news from series creator Lizzy Weiss who revealed that the decision to have Tank be involved in a sexual assault storyline was "very controversial." She knew that there had to be an ending for him, but the way to go through with it was not easy.

"We struggled a lot in the writers' room with how to end the story," Weiss said. "We finally felt like there had to be some sort of closure. Whether or not it's realistic, I don't know. People can argue about that."

'Switched At Birth' New Character Chatter

Even though a good haul of fans are hating Tank for what he did to Bay, some might be a little curious to see what actually happens to him after he was expelled. The series creator made it clear that viewers will find out eventually.

"We'll revisit him in the second part of the season," Weiss revealed.

The ABC Family series took on one of the most controversial storylines that the show has ever encountered. Bay and Tank go to a party where she gets really drunk and ends up having sex with her ex. This led to the question of assault since Bay didn't consent to sleeping with Tank.

Switched at Birth airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
