Monday night's episode of ABC's Castle neatly wrapped up the 3XK storyline, so what's ahead for Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) now?

Castle and Beckett successfully orchestrated the deaths of Jerry Tyson (Michael Mosley) and Dr. Kelly Nieman (Annie Wersching) and were reunited at last at the end of the episode. While this was a proper conclusion, there is still room for more overarching story later in the season.

Castle show runner David Amann discussed what's ahead in a new interview with TVLine. One thing he touched on was previous comments made about how this two-parter would pick up the Castle vanishing storyline. He suggested that while they didn't address it directly, it still gave Castle the general feeling of how Beckett felt when he went missing.

"We touched on the missing time here more in terms of the feeling it was bringing out in the characters - specifically the first time Castle is looking at the tape Beckett made, he's kind of experiencing what she experienced, except probably a worse version, because he knows she's in the clutches of Jerry Tyson," Amann said.

That will be addressed again later in the season, according to Amann.

"It's a way in which he can kind of understand the helplessness and difficulty that she went through when he was [gone], and that's going to stick with him a bit," he said. "That will be explored in a greater depth when we get to Episode 20."

However, this isn't all they will be exploring later in the season. Amann said that they will also be dealing with "some Beckett mythology" as well.

Castle airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
