Hayden Panettiere wants viewers to known that although she is playing a young, blonde and successful country singer in the television series "Nashville," her character is not at all based on the music icon and Nashville native Taylor Swift.

The ABC drama premiered on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and it got many thinking that Panettiere's Juliette Barnes character, country music's supposed 'It' girl, was based on country's current major superstar and "You Belong With Me" singer.

However, both stars put the rumors to rest, stating that the television character and Swift basically nothing in common.

"I've heard the Taylor Swift thing quite a bit. And I think aside from being around the same age and blonde, we're very different," Panettiere said, according to Examiner. "I think once you see her and get to know my character a little bit better, you'll see that. I really think Taylor would disagree wholeheartedly as well. She's much nicer than my character!"

"Nashville" is about a legendary country-western singer, Rayna James (Connie Britton), who is struggling to make a comeback into the spotlight after Barnes (played by Panettiere] comes along and steals the heart of audiences everything, making her a force to be reckoned with.

Examiner added that Swift spoke to Zap2it and said rumors about the resemblance are actually quite funny.

"Hayden [Panettiere] is my neighbor, actually," Swift said. "She pulled me aside and said, 'I need to talk to you! I need to tell you that my character's not based on you.' And I said, 'I know, Hayden. I saw the pilot. It's amazing.' I think she did an incredible job of being sinister and adorable at the same time, and we had a hilarious conversation about it.' "

Swift was born in Wyomissing, Pa., and moved to Nashville, Tenn., at the age of 14 to pursue her music career.
