More has come out about Apollo Nida and his relationship with Phaedra Parks and their sons as he continues his prison sentence.

Apollo Nida Admits That His & Phaedra Parks’ Children Shouldn’t See Him In Jail

While Parks was being accused of keeping the two children away from Nida during his federal prison sentence (first in Lextington, KY, now in New Jersey), it looks like she really was just looking out for the well being of their boys. And now Nida is doing the same.

One insider said Friday that Nida and Parks have gone as far as speaking with mental health professionals to see if the young children, Ayden, 5, and Dylan, 2, should really see their father in that environment. And it might be safe to say the experts said it was not a good idea, considering the children are so young.

But he still has a relationship with them.

“He continues to talk to the boys several time a week. Phaedra and Apollo are continuing to co-parent. Apollo wants to see the boys, but he spoke to a childhood expert with Phaedra and they came to the conclusion this wouldn’t be the best time for a visit.”

Still, all hope is not lost when it comes to the kids seeing Nida before he is released. After all, Ayden will be around 12 and Dylan roughly 10-years-old when Nida is a free man, if he serves the full term.

The source continued and said, “There will be a time when the boys will of course see their dad. Phaedra doesn’t want to keep the kids away from their dad for eight years! It’s just a matter of the visit being appropriate, given the fact that the boys are so young, and it could be hard for them to process”

As for their marriage, Parks has yet to file divorce papers. But the source said that doesn’t mean she’s not still thinking about it. For now, things are fine between them.

“There isn’t any rush to officially file. Everything is extremely amicable between Apollo and Phaedra. They will always be in each other’s lives because of the kids, and they only want what is best for them.”
