Now that many major holidays like Father’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas have come and gone without Apollo Nida (husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks) seeing his children, he is now giving the real reason why Parks has not brought their two sons to the prison.

In the past, Nida has said that it’s because Parks refuses to bring five-year-old Ayden and Dylan, 2, to the facility. But now he has told TMZ the real story.

Nida, who has just been relocated from Lexington, Ky. to the East Coast, told the publication over the weekend that he agrees with Parks that a prison is no place for their children to see him.

He said that it would be too much to handle, especially at their young ages. But all hope is not lost in Nida missing some of the son’s biggest moments. He added that they have been able to chat over FaceTime. He began his eight year sentence earlier this year. He pleaded guiltily to several fraud charges including identity theft.

Interestingly enough, on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Parks confessed that her and Nida’s oldest son was not only aware of his father’s legal woes, but has communicated with him several times since Nida went to federal prison via email.

Still, Nida’s friend who came to visit Parks in the episode said Nida had a different story to tell and claimed that he had not spoken with the kids, but Parks accused him of lying.
