One of the stars of Degrassi opened up on the craziness his character has endured.

Is 'Degrassi' Going To Be 'Safer' In Future Episodes?

On Sunday, Durham Region posted details from Eric Osborne who plays Miles on the series. When he joined the cast, the actor admitted he didn't expect to portray someone so fitting.

"When I first started I had no idea it was going to turn into such a comprehensive and relatable character," Osborne said. "It's awesome."

Will There Be More 'Vulnerability' On 'Degrassi?'

The character has been through a lot with a controlling father, figuring out his identity and a complicated relationship with boyfriend Tristan. And he eventually started taking pills, which set up a difficult journey.

"That gets him on a pretty dark path and, as you can imagine, it spirals and he loses his way," Osborne said. "He hits sort of rock bottom."

This gives insight on how things might continue if the series lands a new season.

"He's definitely a very interesting dynamic character," the actor said about Miles. "There's not just one answer to any question you can ask about him. He's changing all the time."

It was also mentioned that Osborne has played characters in other deep projects, one including a Ryerson Television Arts short film called If a Bird Cannot Swim about a father who commits suicide. These kinds of roles are something that Osborne is proud to be a part of, saying they "can have a very profound effect on people."

If Degrassi is renewed for another season, it will likely premiere on Netflix in early 2017.
