Miguel could face more than just backlash from his literally leg-dropping performance at the Billboard Awards on May 19; the singer could be subjected to a lawsuit, E News! reported Wednesday.

During his performance of Adorn, Miguel dove into the audience and accidentally gave two fans a leg drop. Miguel finished the song despite the circumstances, but sang a portion of his tune on the stage floor. A video of the performance, shown below, features the singer falling on a audience member, so then bends down in pain.

Khyati Shah, who bore the brunt of Miguel's leg drop, retained lawyer Vip Bhola to the case. He said that a decision would be made soon whether or not to file a lawsuit against Miguel. He said that his client was experiencing "difficulties" as a result of the incident. Further medical results would inform Shah's choice over whether or not to seek monetary damages from the #Beautiful singer.

"We will determine that after we have feedback from medical providers," Bhola said.

Bhola added that he had not yet been in contact with representatives for Miguel. However, he felt that a settlement could be reached. At the time of the May 19 event, Miguel was quick to take to Twitter and express his apologies.

"Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay," he tweeted after the show.

Miguel also tweeted a video of Shah smiling as she clutched an ice pack, and was visibly embarrassed. He gave a more formal response to Billboard about his leg drop, which quickly went viral. He said that this was one of his least favorable moments.

"The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it, and how that might turn out," Miguel said.

In response Shah said she still "adorn[s]" him.
