The "Stranger Things" producers have heard the world's call for the return of the fan-favorite rock star.

"Stranger Things" is a sci-fi horror drama Netflix series created by the Duffer Brothers. What started as an 8-episode first season on July 2016 has led to three more successful seasons until July 2022. The fourth and latest season broke the record for most hours watched in a weekend premiere for a streaming series at a staggering 286.79 million. In February 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth and final season.

During the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards, producer Shawn Levy tells their thoughts on the show's success to The Hollywood Reporter, and addresses fans' requests to bring back fan-favorite character Eddie Munson for season 5.

"Oh boy, a lot of people - a lot of people - can't even handle the thought of a Season 5 without some excuse for Eddie presence. Highly unlikely. Highly unlikely. But we hear you, world. We know. You're obsessed with Eddie. So were we." Levy told THR.

Eddie Munson, portrayed by actor Joseph Quinn, was a newly introduced character in the latest season. Being the leader of the "Hellfire club" and a rock star in his own band, fans instantly felt a connection to his character, urging the producers to bring Joseph Quinn back to reprise his role for the next season.

Producers Owe It All to 'Stranger Things' Fans

During the red carpet interview, producer Shawn Levy expressed his gratitude to fans of the Netflix series, as they have always influenced the purpose of the show.

"So to feel, around the world, this very visceral, emotional connection with the characters and storytelling... look at Eddie! Look at the Eddie phenomenon. I mean, as an example, this is a made-up character that got introduced in the fourth year, and the world fell in love with him." Levy expressed in awe. "And so the way that our fans invest in the stories and the characters, that's why we do this job, it's what we dream of when we do this job."

"Stranger Things" swept the 2022 Emmy Awards with several nominations. The series bagged winning awards for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour), Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour), Outstanding Music Supervision, and many more.
