Marvel executives have impressed at least one fan with their upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

While promoting his new supernatural noir comic book Fatale, writer Ed Brubaker talked a little bit about Winter Soldier.

"I read the script and was blown away by it," Brubaker said. "The time of it and the Bucky stuff is so perfect and the way I'd want it to be, I was so thrilled to see that."

He also praised Marvel's decision to put out a movie that related to a specific book.

"But the biggest thing to me, too, is it's the first time Marvel has put out a movie where there's a specific book the title of the movie relates to. And now they're doing that with Avengers: Age of Ultron. They're putting out a hardcover collection of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and that's because the movie is coming out," Brubaker said.

He also compared the release to previous Marvel title X-Men: First Class, which was based off of 15 different trade paperbacks, which confused movie fans who didn't know which one to pick up and read. Because The Winter Soldier is based on the one title, Brubaker found it exciting "as the guy who gets royalties for that book.

Meanwhile, the official website for the film went live recently, featuring a brief bit of the story, some gallery photos and downloads.

The story picks up where last year's The Avengers left off, with Steve Rogers living in Washington D.C. and trying to quietly adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague is attacked, he joins forces with The Black Widow to expose a conspiracy which puts the world at risk. But however, when the full plot is revealed and they face an unexpected enemy known as The Winter Soldier, they also enlist the help of The Falcon to try and defeat him before its too late.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier arrives in theaters April 2014.
