This summer's second season of Under the Dome will feature a group of intriguing new characters, according to a new report.

Though the residents of Chester's Mill are still under the dome for the time being, viewers will be introduced to three new characters in season 2 only some of whom have been there the whole time, according to TVLine.

The first character is named Sam, a rugged man who is most often referred to as "the crazy drunk who lives alone in the woods." Old Sam is actually a family member of one of the main characters.

There's also Rebecca, a young teacher who is enlisted by Big Jim (Dean Norris) to start the school back up again. Big Jim does not have the most pure of intentions, though.

Finally, viewers will be introduced to a "new girl in town," who becomes interested in Joe (Colin Ford) and Norrie (Mackenzie Lintz). It is currently unknown how a "new girl" will have entered the town of Chester's Mill but it will certainly cause lots of hubbub around town.

Other than the aforementioned new characters, very few details have been released about Under the Dome season 2. Like season 1, the new season will have 13 episodes and air during the summer on CBS. Stephen King, who wrote the book Under the Dome on which the series is based, will be writing the season 2 premiere.
