AMC's hit TV series, The Walking Dead, closed out the first half of its fourth season with a slew of unanswered questions, including what lies ahead for each of the recently disbanded group members such as Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Glenn (Steven Yeun), and Michonne (Dunai Gurira), amongst others.

Rick & Carl To Live In A Two-Story House When TV Series Returns?

Creator Robert Kirkman dished to TVLine that the scattered survivors will undoubtedly be facing their toughest challenges yet, as they continue to venture further and further into the unsecure walker-ridden pastures.

"They're definitely in the most dangerous position that they've been in yet, which is where all of the characters are coming out of this episode," he said.

Kirkman also delved into character development, and how each of the characters, and will be tested in a world that's clearly survival of the fittest.

"We do some really interesting changes in these characters as they're put to the test and have to decide what they're willing to do to survive and how they're going to allow this new environment and new danger to affect them, which is what The Walking Dead is all about," he added.

The Walking Dead is set to make its return to the small screen for episode 9, its midseason premiere on Sunday, Feb.4 at 9/8 p.m. Central Standard Time.
