It's been a few weeks since the House of Cards producers failed to receive the millions more dollars in tax credits they'd requested from the state of Maryland for season 3.  So, the next question is, will the show remain filming in Maryland?

On April 17, a report claimed, "The debacle regarding film tax credits at the recent legislative session could potentially cause Maryland to lose one of the finest TV programs around today," in reference to the popular Netflix series. For the first two seasons, the House of Cards (HoC) set called Maryland home, after having filmed mostly in Baltimore City and Hartford County.

Earlier in the year though, the Media Rights Capital (MRC) producers penned a "threatening" letter to Gov. Martin O'Malley and the Maryland General Assembly leadership. The MRC note warned that if their requested tax monies failed to be delivered, then they would take their show on the road, to a different state.

Likewise, the Thursday report asserted, "The Netflix series has 3.5 million reasons to move filming out of Maryland," as a failed negotiation between the House and Senate left HoC $3.5 million short in tax credits for season 3. What's more, there are other states which already provide "massive tax credits to film companies, hoping it will encourage them to shoot there - in a more realistic environment than a set built in Los Angeles," so perhaps the show will relocate. However, apparently the actor who portrays the main man for the series, Kevin Spacey, "loves Maryland, he's got a house [there]."
