Even though it has only been a week, it seems like the people behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are already thinking about character to add into the sequel, and two fan favorites are right now on their minds.

'Ninja Turtles' Sequel Set For 2016 Release

Speaking with ScreenRant on Tuesday, director Jonathan Liebesmann and producer Brad Fuller talked about a character they hoped would make it into the sequel, Dimension X.

"I would love to (add Dimension X). I mean it's not up to me. It's up to all of us to decide," Liesbesmann said. "But we've talked about those worlds already," Fuller added.

Producer Andrew Form also said that scripts have been written to integrate the world of Dimension X into the sequel, most because it was considered for the first movie.

According to ScreenRant, "the sequel has a lot more freedom to peel the curtain back even further and really dig into the mysteries of the where the mutagen originated from, and what it can do." They go on to add that having an alien race like the Krang in the movie wouldn't be that big of a stretch for a movie that features giant turtles with ninja training.

The interesting tidbit is that as of now, Liebesmann is not attached to direct the sequel, and was left out of the press release announcing it entirely. The idea could be scrapped, but having the producers behind it also makes it seem like it could be a legit possibility.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set to open in theaters on June 3, 2016.
