The new promo of The Vampire Diaries proves that there will be several changes in Mystic Falls next season.

Besides the fact that no supernatural beings are allowed in the area, Stefan has fled while Bonnie and Damon are dead. Elena is going to have a very difficult time getting over the love of her life. In the new promo, she's seen crying over Damon and engaging in erratic and crazy behavior like feeding on people.

"I want to thank you for giving me everything I ever wanted. A love that consumed me, adventure, passion; there's nothing more that I could have asked for except for it to last forever," she's heard saying.

The promo also reveals that Stefan has a new love interest, who asks him to tell her a secret about himself. "I'm a vampire," he replies.

Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan on the hit CW show, previously revealed his character's disappearance during an interview with TVFanatic.com at Comic-Con in San Diego in July.

"He takes off, he leaves town and he decides that he doesn't want to have any part," Wesley said. "We think that he's searching for Damon and Bonnie. We think that he's being proactive but in reality he's gone. He's doing his thing and he's completely disinterested, he's apathetic, he's given up."

Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries premieres on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c on The CW.
