The Originals is featuring all kinds of family reunions on The CW this Monday and for series creator Julie Plec, this is what it all comes down to.

Elijah Bonds With baby Hope In New 'The Originals' Clip

"It's what we've been building to all season," explained Plec during a behind-the-scenes look at the episode on Thursday (featured below), "Which is finally getting all of those original siblings in one room."

Now that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) finally have their brothers at the compound, they have the opportunity to turn the tides against their mother Esther (Sonja Sohn).

Elijah & Finn At Odds On 'The Originals'

Klaus wants to offer Finn and Kol the opportunity to "free" themselves from Esther, who has controlled them their entire lives. He also needs them for the sake of his daughter, Hope.

"What we need are allies to help us defeat our mother," Klaus warns Elijah. "Finn and Kol must be turned to our side. Without their help there will be where left for Hope to run."

With baby Hope in danger, there's nothing Klaus and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) won't do. This episode marks the return of Rebekah (Claire Holt), who returns to New Orleans with Hope after being discovered by Esther.

"As Esther's been keeping the boys busy, she's actually been quietly tracking Rebekah all along," explained Plec.

While Esther is indeed the most immediate threat to the baby, there is also the question of Esther's sister, who has vowed to claim the first-born child of every Mikaelson in the family line.

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
