Team USA tore up the basketball court in the gold medal match against Spain, going home as champions with a 107-100 win on Aug. 12. 

Defending their title from the 2008 Beijing Games and wining their second consecutive Olympic championship, Team USA pulled in the win during the final minutes of the game.

LeBron James gave his team a 99-91 lead performing a basket with only 2:48 seconds remaining and then a 3-pointer that made it 102-93 with 1:59 left to the game. He secured the win for USA, who had stiff competition from Spain as they keep tying with their scores until the final minutes.

USA beat Spain in the Beijing Games also, with a 118-107 score.

Spain only conquered the second quarter in Sunday's game with a 31-24 lead but USA prevailed with higher overall scoring.

To do it twice is a special moment," USA's Carmelo Anthony said, according to The Associated Press. "As the U.S. men's team, we go through a lot. For us to persevere the way we did is just a special moment for myself, and for the guys who are on this team."

USA's Kevin Durant scored 30 points on Sunday and James did 19. Both players hugged for a while after the game ended and coach Mike Krzyzewski, who announced his retirement this year, could not have been happier with their performances. The team then began parading around the court with the American flag waving on their backs.

Kobe Bryant, who with Sunday's win got his second gold medal to add this his NBS Championship trophies, also announced that this would be his last Olympic game - 0ne that he ended on a high note with teammates who he has built a bond with.

"We knew it wasn't going to be easy. We didn't want it easy," James said, according to The Associated Press. "A lot of teams have won gold easy. We didn't want it that way. We're a competitive team and we love when it gets tight. That's when our will and determination kind of shows. It was the same way in '08."

Sunday's win gave USA their 14th gold medal at the Olympics in London. Watch full replay of the game here.
